Q

Aspects In Color Do You See What I See ?

Aspects are Red.

Aspects are Blue.

What do YOUR aspects depict about you ?

According to Huber, the PLANETS involved in Aspect Patterns play a subordinate role, as do their POSITION in SIGNS and HOUSES. What has the utmost significance is the color, quality, shape, direction and general orientation of the aspect pattern .

The condition of the APEX PLANET is vital to interpretation . The condition and strength of the planets involved with pattern is determined by:

  • DIGNITY/DEBILITY
  • OCCUPIED HOUSE
  • SECT
  • MOTION/SPEED
  • RULERSHIP

Basic knowledge of planetary nature is necessary .Enough to understand :

“Soft” aspects are applied by benefic planets and malefic planets apply “hard” aspects.

Each   aspect will represent  the qualities of a specific planet .

Planets in same polarity play well together.

VENUS and JUPITER are the lesser and greater BENEFICS.

  • Sextile: VENUS Aspect
  • Trine : JUPITER Aspect

MARS and SATURN are the lesser and greater MALEFIC.

  • Square: MARS Aspect
  • Opposition : SATURN Aspect
  • Quincunx: SATURN Aspect

MERCURY  is  NEUTRAL.

  • Semisextile: MERCURY Aspect

Outer Planets have a long-term generational  effects that can be considered both benefic and malefic.  Uranus and Neptune usually have  spiritual contribution. Pluto has a transformational effect.

The key to aspect pattern analysis  is understanding the differences and commonalities between the  positions of the planets involved. Planets that form CONJUNCTIONS  are usually in SAME HOUSE/ SIGN. There can  be OUT OF SIGN conjunctions and conjunctions that span ACROSS a HOUSE CUSP. The latter will simply  consider qualities of both signs/ houses. Planets that are SEXTILE are same GENDER.  Planets that are SQUARE are same MODALITY. Planet that are TRINE  are same ELEMENT. Planets in OPPOSITION are on the SAME AXIS.

The  aspect patterns  contain a structure  (geometric) pattern that indicates a specific motivation in the native. Take note of the position, hemisphere emphasis and direction of the aspect structure as it will be chart specific. There are however many indicators that depend on the  pattern structure alone.

  • Symmetrical & asymmetrical,
  • Linear ,triangluar & quadrangular,
  • Closed loop, incomplete & free flowing,
  • Small, medium or large.
  • Color

The visual  imprint from an Aspect Pattern reveals so much. Utilizing the Huber Method and Observing the shapes,  orientation,  colors and size of patterns you can understand the motivation behind and functions of the patterns. Your chart will reveal exactly what  your aspects depict about you.

Aspect Pattern Astrology is the interpretation of the aspect pattern as a pattern for consciousness and motivation.

The SHAPE is the main way to identify a pattern. Patterns are  combinations of basic shapes

SYMMETRICAL patterns are static.

The odd looking patterns are generally ASYMMETRICAL. They are not as lazy as TRIANGLES or as challenging as SQUARES. They are more dynamic with a one-sided tendency.

QUADRILATERALS have a static character.

TRIANGLES are dynamic.

Individual aspects are what form the shape of the patterns. Each aspect represents a different type of contribution to the whole.

BLUE RESONANCE

SEXTILES seek harmony and have a willingness to compromise.

TRINES seek perfection, luxury, enjoyment, abundance and gives sensual pleasure.

RED  RESONANCE

SQUARES generate crisis/conflict, stress/friction and they are often aggressive.

OPPOSITIONS generate an inner tension or blockage.

GREEN RESONANCE

SEMISEXTILES need to experience , learn discuss,  read and be informed about new things.

QUINCUNXES bring on decision-making crisis and uncertainty. The fear of failure/the unknown can limit goal achievement .

                      ASPECT KEYWORDS

SEMISEXTILES:  -Cognition- Communication

SEXTILES: Growth -Assimilation -Harmony

SQUARE: Friction- Crisis- Conflict

TRINE: Fruition- Abundance -Perfection

QUINCUNX: Informed Decision- Unwanted Choices-Longing for

OPPOSITION: Repression -Pressure -Blockage

Aspects are in reality neither good or bad but looking at them a certain way will make it that way. People are at different levels of consciousness so the  same aspect  under the same conditions will not produce same results. Aspects represent the changes and challenges in our lives and if or how we choose to deal with them . Both “good” and “bad “,there are a ton of aspects within all 360 degrees of the zodiac.

ASPECTS CYCLE

From the conjunction to opposition the cycle of aspects flows requiring action (waxing).  From  the opposition  back to the new moon the mirroring aspects require no action.(waning)

CONJUNCTION The Conjunction or zero degrees. Aspect is analogous with Aries (Fire) or First House

SEMISEXTILE The Semisextile or 30degrees Aspect is a blending of the principles of Taurus and Pisces (Water and Earth), the 2nd and 12th house principles.

SEXTILE The Sextile or 60degree. As pect is a blending of the principles of Gemini and Aquarius (Air), the 3rd and 11th House principles.

SQUARE The Square or 90-degree Aspect is a blending of the principles of Cancer and Capricorn (Earth and Water), the 4th and 10th House principles.

TRINE The Trine or 120-degree Aspect is a blending of the principles of Leo and Sagittarius (Fire), the 5th and 9th House principles.

QUINCUNX or INCONJUNCT The Quincunx or  150-degree aspect is a blending of the principles of Pisces and  Virgo (Water and Earth), the 12th and 6th House principles.

OPPOSITION The Opposition or 180-degree aspect is analogous with the Libra principle (Air) and the 7th House.

ASPECT COLORS & QUALITIES

The motivations (MODALITY) are immediately recognizable  in the Huber Methods three color presentation of the aspects.

<RED>The squares  and oppositions represent the crosses of matter and cardinal energy.

<BLUE >Sextiles and Trines are vehicles for latent talents and represent fixed energy.

<GREEN>Mutable energy is represented by the semisextile and quincunx that produce  information and consciousness forming sensitive aspects.

Color combinations of the  aspect patterns will indicate potential. The ideal ratio is  1-2-3 with the most BLUE(3) and least GREEN(1).

Aspects with these colors are an indication of:

1. Achievement  =RED

2. Ambivalence= RED+BLUE

3. Talent =BLUE

4. Learning =GREEN+RED+BLUE

5. Stimulation =RED +GREEN

6. Information =GREEN

ASPECT SIZE

Size does matter in case you hadn’t heard.

The most important aspects patterns are the large ones. The small (minor) patterns show extensions and modifications.

LARGE: include or cross through the center of chart. These will be the most relevant patterns for the native .

SMALL: Do not touch the center of chart and often only occupy one quadrant.

INCOMPLETE PATTERNS have a tendency to make up for the missing leg. They lack coherence  and seep energy.

ADJACENT ASPECTS  are necessary to stimulate soft and close loop patterns and to relieve tension of hard aspects.

PATTERN SHAPES

LINEAR patterns are the ones made of lines . They are dynamic and their motivation is ATTAINING GOALS and PUSHING FORWARD . They judge themselves by their achievements.

QUADRANGULAR (square, oblong, trapezium, trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon) They are more static oriented and they’re motivated by SECURITY and MATERIAL GAINS. (except the asymmetrical patterns) They seek peace and quiet, and values nothing more highly than harmony of a well-ordered and secure life.

TRIANGLUAR patterns (obviously made up of triangles)are balanced relationship oriented, simply RELATING WITH PEOPLE is their motivation. In the triangle there is no polarity, as there is always a third point of view to realize or to search for meaning, This type is an observer, a discoverer and a learner.

MIXED patterns can be any combination of patterns and natives with mixed patterns are quite clever beings. Super creative and they SIEZE OPPORTUNITIES.

HEMISPHERIC DOMINANCE reflects  what the native is the most concerned with (self or other)

LEFT: (I) awareness is concentrated on ego.

RIGHT:(You) Experiences based on environment. Awareness is restricted in favor of one sided contact with a person

BOTTOM:(Unconscious) Interested in the collective

TOP:(Conscious)Freedom and success driven

VERTICAL DIRECTION: = Individuation oriented

HORIZONTAL DIRECTION:= Relationship to others oriented.

QUADRANT 1-IMPULSE  ⬅️

QUADRANT 2-INSTINCT ⬇️

QUADRANT 3-THINKING ➡️

QUADRANT 4-BEING ⬆️

Aspect patterns will have a single color dominance , 2 colors or all 3 colors. The missing colors are key to delineating the patterns.

RED aspects are energy transporting links between planets. They’re responsible for the handling of energy or power. (expansive, outward-going)

BLUE Aspects create a restful, rather inward-looking (introverted) and statically-inclined mood.

GREEN aspects show receptiveness to stimuli and are highly sensitive. They are curious and also very alert. Eager to learn.

MISSING COLORS

🚫 RED this person is very sensitive , sentimental and often unstable.

🚫BLUE this person cannot relax

🚫GREEN impossible to argue with this person, they see things in black in white.

THREE COLORED ASPECTS  =LEARNING/GROWTH

The RED brings in the conflict/crisis, GREEN is asking questions and BLUE will provide the solution. Strives for a complete  understanding.

3 color patterns can be triangular, Linear or quadrangular.

The DIRECTION that colors flow starting with RED and ending with BLUE determines whether learning this is a lesson that you completely understand( cognitive) or it’s one that you need (learning)to continue learning.

RGB clockwise =DIRECT =You get it

RGB counterclockwise = RX = Still Learning

3 Color pattern

PYTHAGOREAN TRIANGLE: This configuration is so-named because it is based on the numbers 3,4, and 5( just like the right triangle of the same name.) It is an irregular triangle composed of a square(3 signs apart), a trine (4 signs apart), and a quincunx (five signs apart).

Example

Mars 4° Aries square Moon 4° Cancer, which is trine Pluto 4° Scorpio, which is quincunx Mars at 4°Aries.

It is connected with a  jovial sense ( TRINE), quest for growth( SQUARE) and with a constant and compelling need to adjust (QUINCUNX)

Learning/pythagorean Triangle

Arthur Young  found this aspect was important in humor.

TRAPEZE

Trapeze

The quadrangular structure of the Trapeze gives this figure a static character with a theme of security. One of the biggest quadrilateral figures  The smaller aspects are absorbed by the larger ones. The learning triangles are stabilized  inside a frame to complete the pattern. The flexibility of the individual  aspects  is lost but the stability of the overall  pattern is integrated. The two large Learning triangles (which turn in both directions) indicate this is fast learner who can learn from any situations under any circumstances. The double learning triangles inspire redundancy and they are prone to checking things twice. All four corners of pattern Contain all 3 colors making it very stable.  The GREEN aspect lines inside the structure running diagonally make them apply logic to situations.

TWO COLORED ASPECTS : R+B/ R+G /B+G

RED + BLUE needs will fluctuate. When active mode it’s all about achievement when in passive  mode it’s more about enjoyment

I will go more in depth explaining this pattern since it’s very common.

2 Colored patterns

MYSTIC  RECTANGLE

This 4 BLUE + 2 RED pattern includes 2 OPPOSITIONS that (2)TRINE and (2)SEXTILE each other. This configuration creates  a natural positioning to resolve the tension by creating BALANCE  which increases awareness of outside help and opportunities available to solve any obstacles set by the oppositions

Mystic Rectangle

The CRADLE is a 5 BLUE +1 RED  Large aspect pattern that contains 2 small talent triangles and an opposition. (Many talents are gathered on one half of the chart.)

Cradle

When pattern is located on the bottom half of chart we find a practical person that everything comes easy to  and things seem effortless.

In the “you” space the person can’t stand to be alone. They make an  effort to maintain existing relationships.

The Cradle up top creates quite an ambitious individual they often create unattainable goals thus experience many defeats.

In the “I”  space the Cradle individual is self-sufficient and closed off . The inner circle is closed (invite only). He protects himself from the outside and stays preoccupied with self.

A Small talent triangle is 2 sextiles and 1 trine. It is an indication that talent may still be developing. They could have a talent that  they don’t commit to because they don’t have to. It comes effortlessly.

Blue aspects are concerned with material things; they are bearers of abilities and qualities.

Planets connected  by a blue aspect have a material relationship and are equipped with optimal substance.

Talent Triangle(Small)

The small blue triangles ( talent  triangle) take up a third of the Signs of the zodiac, and usually one quadrant of the chart. ( This is the part of the personality where growth is achieved by adapting, as far as possible without stress.) The appropriate properties are developed gradually into a distinctive and specialized talent.

Talent triangles indicate an abundance of skills/abilities and always striving for harmony.

Talent Triangles correspond to the MUTABLE cross, making the blue aspects more versatile and animated than expected

Small Talent Triangle has a Venus- Venus- Jupiter quality .The Opposition adds the Saturn qualities to the mix which stabilizes and stimulate the triangles by forming the Cradle.

This person is creative has good taste(Venus) and doesn’t miss out on an opportunity (Jupiter). Saturn enables them to focus on a specific talent and limit pleasure seeking.

BLUE+GREEN : produce little motivation for achievement so they are not high-flyers as they are not assertive enough.

B+G Aspect Patterns:

BUTTERFLY  (Not to be confused with the Red+ Blue Butterfly Pattern)

Is a dynamic and Linear structure that circulates perpendicular on itself like the Figure 8. (2 BLUE  2 GREEN aspects). 🚫RED  aspects means there’s a lack of intense targeted  movement. This person doesn’t like to settle. Moving is quite transient and flowing like a dance. These people are collectors ( BLUE) of  information (GREEN). Experiences are taken personally as a GREEN is on the inside of the pattern. The BLUE acts like a shield protecting their emotions.

Butterfly

RED+GREEN

Often tend to be addicted to temporary relaxation to compensate for the  🚫BLUE. GREEN (sensitivity, susceptibility to stimuli) is overwhelmed by red (energy, strength). As a result, they often overextend themselves .

RED+GREEN aspect patterns

IRRITATION TRIANGLE

is a dynamic1 RED +2 GREEN aspect . The lack of blue reacts to external pressures  with anger and defensive behaviors. The energy stored is looking for a way to resolve the  conflict of the opposition.

Irritation Triangle

They are aware of the  need for liberation( quincunx) from  blockage and tension( opposition) but all they do is talk about it (Semisextile)

SINGLE COLORED/ COLOR DOMINANCE

GREEN DOMINANCE: Sensitive and dependent (always trying to prove themselves

ALL BLUE: Harmonious/easy-going( lacks drive

ALL BLUE Aspect patterns:

GRAND TRINE  planets will all have same element and be equidistant  This closed loop over flows with opportunity once stimulated.  Without stimulation one can snooze and wait for  opportunities to fall in their lap. Triangles  require awareness or your Trine will simply be your Trying.

Grand Trine

ALL RED: Dynamic and hyperactive(acts before  thinks/ get on people’s nerves)

ALL RED Aspect Patterns:

T-SQUARE. This is the Grand cross with one leg missing. These  planets will all be in same mode. and is a common and important configuration. found in charts of successful people This configuration gives native drive.

T Square

Charles Jayne describes its effects as a  person who stays on his feet after tripping while running. Basically they can overcome challenges  by restoring balance. The missing leg is where one seeks to find balance  without an opposition is crucial as the apex

Now that you can see in color, use your chart to understand the Aspect Patterns by identifying the following visual graphics:

  • Static/Dynamic — Graphic Structure: Linear, Triangular, Quadrangular
  • Position/Emphasis/ Direction
  • Coherence
  • Coloring (two or three colors, dominance of one color)
  • Life Motivation
