WHOSE HOUSE?

(Runs house! …in my Run DMC voice….but no seriously

When determining which  planet influences a particular house in horoscope, look to the natural zodiac and then then rulerships.

No matter what sign is on the first house cusp it’s always going to have the qualities of Aries and the nature of Mars because of the natural zodiac.

Then we can determine  who the ruler of that house is  (LORD)  by the sign on the leading edge of the house, therefore, the Lord of  first house will be set by the rising sign .

THE SIGNS AND RULING PLANET

Aries is ruled by Mars.

Taurus is ruled by Venus.
Gemini is ruled by Mercury.
Cancer is ruled by the Moon.
Leo is ruled by the Sun.
Virgo is ruled by Mercury.
Libra is ruled by Venus.
Scorpio is ruled by Pluto. (co-ruled by Mars)
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn.
Aquarius is ruled by Uranus. (co- ruled by Saturn)
Pisces is  ruled by Neptune. (co- ruled by Jupiter)

HOUSE LORD

Whatever planet rules that sign is considered the house Lord. So the lord of the first/ Chart Ruler/ Ascendant Lord  is the ruler of the sign on the leading edge of the first house (ascendant)

LORD  OF THE OF THE FIRST HOUSE FOR EACH RISING SIGN :

Aries : Mars

Taurus or Libra: Venus
Gemini or Virgo: Mercury
Cancer: The Moon
Leo : The Sun
Scorpio: Pluto (Mars)
Sagittarius: Jupiter
Capricorn: Saturn
Aquarius: Uranus (Saturn )
Pisces : Neptune (Jupiter)

WHO IS THE DISPOSITOR OF THE HOUSE LORD?.

Which means what house is the Lord occupying. When delineating  a chart you’d need to know what planet influences the house in reference. If planet does not own the house that it occupies    will have to deal with or do what the landlord says. Since every planet has to occupy a house they have to abide by the house rules. So no matter what the planetary strength it still occupies a house. If it’s not its own house or the house of a friendly planet it is bound by the rules of the house lord

So if Venus would love to be sitting a house it rules. (2nd ,7th or any house with Taurus or Libra on the cusp) This can enable Venus to do  exactly what its nature describes. However,  when Venus occupies a house ruled by another planet she must first consider the rules of that house before  expressing. Therefore, with Venus in Capricorn (Saturn’s house) Saturn will not allow Venus to spend frivolously buying decorations that are not necessary instead of paying bills which are.

DEPOSITOR TREE

Dispositor hierarchy doesn’t stop until it leads back to the house  you started in or until it leads to a planet in its own sign.

  • In cases of mutual reception the dispositorship shared .
  • In cases of interception it goes to duplicated sign on adjacent cusp.
  • In cases of Sole dispositor it goes to the only planet  in it’s own sign.

EXAMPLES:

A: SUN FINAL  DISPOSITOR
Venus in Virgo  >>
Mercury in Leo >[
Sun in Leo!

B:MUTUAL RECEPTION
Venus  in Virgo>>
Mercury in Libra!

C: SUN FINAL DISPOSITOR
Venus in Virgo >>
Mercury in Leo>>
Sun in Libra!

OCCUPANCY

The last thing to consider is planets that are occupying and aspects the house. A challenging aspect from a planet with another agenda will modify the   nature of any planet (not just house lord). Naturally. any planet in a house will  influence the house but  there is only one King…..that’s “WHOSE HOUSE “
